Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning Certificate with AAS Degree Option
*HVAC Certificate and Associate of Applied Science degree option*
The HVAC program offers two certificate levels and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technology. The first two semesters cover the electrical and heating side of HVAC. Later semesters cover the refrigeration and airflow side of the HVAC trade.
The program utilizes the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) curriculum. NCCER is a nationally-recognized credentialing and certification system. Students completing certificate A will cover NCCER Core and Level I and be able to earn NCCER credentials in those content areas. Students completing certificate B will add NCCER Level II content and credentialing.
Students will learn to install, maintain, and repair heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems. These systems control the temperature, humdity, and air quality in residential and commercial buildings. The job outlook for HVAC technicians in Kansas is increasing faster than average. The average annual wage in Kansas is $54,270 according to the Kansas Department of Labor 2030 Employment Projections.
