Cheerleader combines Spirit and Service in U.S. Army National Guard

This Veteran's Day, Neosho County Community College (NCCC) would like to thank Jasmine Nelson for her service to our country.

Nelson, a freshman from Wichita, Kan., is a member of the NCCC Cheer Team. She also serves as a reserve member of the United States Army National Guard in the Human Resources Department.

Just before the semester, Nelson completed basic training at the Fort Jackson U.S. Army Training Center in Columbia, S.C.

"I enlisted while I was in high school because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go straight to college or not,” Nelson said. “I thought taking this opportunity to join the National Guard would help me create a better path for my career.”

NCCC is proud to call Jasmine Nelson a Panther!
