- Q: Is summer housing available?
- Summer housing is available to students taking summer classes. However, it is only available during the month of June, and only Sunday afternoon through Thursday afternoon. The residence halls are closed Thursday night through Sunday afternoon, and no meal service will be provided. Residents are still required to follow the residence hall handbook, and supervision will be provided by the Assistant Director of Residence and Student Life.
- Q: Can I take a virtual tour of the residence halls?
- Yes, students are able to take a virtual tour of the residence halls and all of campus. Please visit the Admissions page to get started.
- Q: Are the residence halls co-ed?
- NCCC has two residence halls on the Chanute campus, Bideau and NeoKan. Both of these residence halls are co-ed; however, all wings are gender specific and there are not co-ed rooms or bathrooms. Bideau is suite style with two rooms sharing a bathroom while NeoKan is a traditional residence hall with all students in the hallway sharing a bathroom. NeoKan floors are also keycard access only, and only students with housing assignments on that floor have access to it.
- Q: When and how should I apply for housing?
- The housing contract is posted on our website on or around April 1, and can be found under our “Forms & Information” tab. In order to secure a spot in housing the entire packet must be filled out completely and the $125 non-refundable application fee must be paid. You may send your contract by mail, by fax, or by email to housing@neosho.edu. Payment may be made by check or money order through the mail or paid over the phone with a credit or debit card by calling our cashier at 620.432.0380. Before payment can be accepted, NCCC must have received your housing contract. There is no deadline, but we encourage students to get their housing contract in early as housing assignments are made on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- Q: How do you match roommates if I do not request one?
- Students who do not request a roommate are either matched with teammates or they are matched with other students based on the information received on their housing application packet.
- Q: When will I receive my hall and roommate assignments?
- Housing assignments and other important information will be sent to all residence hall students mid-late July.
- Q: Does my financial aid cover my residence hall cost?
- Financial aid varies from student to student. Any student looking to receive financial aid must consult with the Neosho Financial Aid office. General financial aid information, as well as contact information for our financial aid department can be found here.
- Q: What type of security do the halls have?
- Neosho provides twenty-four hour video surveillance inside and outside of all common areas of the residence halls. Neosho also provides overnight security guards for the residence halls and the rest of campus. Each residence hall has adult professional staff and student resident assistants who are responsible to provide supervision. The college also has a great working relationship with local law enforcement.
- Q: Is parking available for all residents?
- Parking is available for residents. You will need to fill out a vehicle permit application upon arrival on campus and receive a parking permit sticker. There are reserved parking spots for students around the residence halls.
- Q: Why should I live in the residence halls?
- There are many benefits to living on campus. Some of these include computers throughout the residence halls, free printing, in-room wireless Internet access, free Cable TV service (you must provide the cable cord and TV), dining hall services, and free onsite washer and dryers. In addition, many students enjoy the close proximity to activities and classes as well as the once in a lifetime experience of living in community with other students.
- Q: What furniture is included in the room?
- Each room contains two extra-long twin beds, two desks and chairs, two dressers, and an open closet area. Bideau rooms are equipped with a vanity and sink area. For more information please see the Amenities & Services tab.
- Q: How will I get my mail?
