Communications Instructor

This position reports to the appropriate academic supervisor and is responsible for providing effective classroom instruction. Provide teaching services at various sites as established by the administration, including but not limited to the Chanute campus, Ottawa campus, Chanute High School, Online, and Hybrid modalities.

Education and Experience

• Meets Higher Learning Commission Instructor Qualification requirements.

• 3-5 years’ experience in community college instruction and/or discipline-specific work history preferred, such as: Interpersonal Communication, Fundamentals of Speech, Introduction to Mass Communication, etc.

• Valid driver’s license required, with the ability to be insured by the institution’s insurance carriers

Purpose of Position: This position is responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of students, employees, and guests while also performing a variety of facilities, grounds, and fleet maintenance functions for the College. The role prioritizes safety, reliability, and premiere-quality service and reports to the Director of Facilities.

This position, under the direction of the RSVP Coordinator, is responsible for the administration of the RSVP program in Anderson and Franklin counties. The Assistant Coordinator has the responsibility to initiate, implement, and maintain RSVP in the northern region. The Assistant Coordinator will select, train and supervise RSVP volunteers; and work cooperatively with the sponsor staff, Community Advisory Group members and volunteer stations as well as other state RSVP administrators and officials of the Corporation for National and Community Service in program planning and implementation. Responsibilities include completion of the annual federal grant requirements in a timely manner and maintenance of program records.
