Campus life

Neosho County Community College has an active campus life. 

In addition to clubs and organizations students can get involved in, Student Senate plans activities for all students on a weekly basis. Most of these activities are FREE to current students!  We believe that students who get involved and participate in activities on campus have a more positive college experience.

We offer classes in Chanute, Ottawa, Garnett, Independence, and Lawrence, as well as Online.

Computers and printing/copying are available 24/7 for students in the CLC on the Chanute campus.

From individual classes, to entire certificate and/or degree programs, let the faculty and staff of NCCC work with you to help you move closer to meeting your future! 

We provide academic support for students and instructors, a library, computer lab, advising center, free tutoring, and quiet study rooms.

At our Teaching and Learning Centers (CLC/TLC)  instructors and tutors are available for almost every academic discipline or major. Students can ask questions, study, and develop support groups and lasting friendships.

Student Housing
(Chanute Campus)

NCCC has two residence halls, Bideau and NeoKan.

Bideau is suite style while NeoKan is community style. Both buildings typically have two people to a room and have free Wi-Fi, cable, and laundry facilities. Each room also has two extra-long twin beds, two desks with chairs, dressers, an open closet area, and individual air units.

Sports

The school boasts 18 conference championships and 7 region or district championships.

The Panthers sponsor varsity teams in baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, softball, men’s and women’s track and cross country, volleyball, and wrestling as well as a co-ed spirit squad.

Applying (don’t worry, it’s easy!)

Steps to getting started at NCCC:

  1. 1.Complete the on-line application for admissions
  2. 2.Submit an official copy of your high school transcript (optional for non-degree seeking students).
  3. 3.Submit official transcripts from all previous colleges attended.  Don’t forget about college courses taken while you were in high school!
  4. 4.Submit ACT or SAT scores.  If you have not taken the ACT or SAT, you may take the ACCUPLACER test at NCCC. Contact admissions@neosho.edu for more information.
